We made a quick trip to Brentwood on Sunday to pick cherries. The weather was unseasonably cool but we weren’t complaining! First we drove by Tachella Family Farms on the main drag (Walnut Blvd.), where in the “old days” we would pick up a farm map and get the lowdown on the best places to pick. Tachella is sadly no more, replaced by Annie’s Happy Farm. We braved the triple digits to go cherry picking today at Pease Ranch. We picked Early Burlats (dark red and very sweet) and Chinooks (lighter red/pink and slightly sour). Next weekend they will have Coral Champagnes and several types of berries. They recommend getting there early since the berries are in full sun.
On our way home we stopped by Prewett Water Park to find out they don’t open until next weekend!!
